Shea Weber Signs 14-Year Offer Sheet With The Philadelphia flyers

Well, few thought any team would offer Nashville Predators' restricted free agent, Shea Weber, an offer sheet because of the reported willingness of the Predators' organization to match any offer that would be sent Weber's way.

That time has come reported Darren Dreger.

Predators' General Manager, David Poile, has seven days to match the offer sheet or lose Weber to the Flyers, a move that has to be done.

This is an interesting situation for everyone involved. There were trade rumors reported and the fact that this offer sheet came into play, could be the Flyers, being fed up with Poile and forcing his hand. It could also be a play in Weber's favor, liking the contract where ever he lands, Philly or Smashville.

Just weeks ago the Predators lost defenseman, Ryan Suter, to the Minnesota Wild, and losing Weber to the Flyers would be two very big steps backwards during the same offseason. So Poille has to match this offer sheet. If not, the Eastern Conference just had a major force added to its defensive ranks.
