Welcome to Julylights, a month long series taking the top plays of the '11-'12 season and giving them to you one a day, every day of the month of July.
The Dallas Stars fell just short of a playoff berth last season, but have revamped their roster this offseason. They have brought in Derek Roy and ageing stars, Jaromir Jagr and Ray Whitney to jump start their offense. Although they have just taken to revamping their front end, they have already passed their torch in net.
Marty Turco, was a long time figure in the Stars' net. Until the '10-'11 season, when he moved to the Chicago Blackhawks. Enter, Keri Lehtonen. Since Lehtonen took over in Dallas, he has played 128 games and won 66 games over the last two seasons.
Some of those wins were made possible because of saves like this. (Video after the jump)
That is a great save, let's not take anything away from Lehtonen here. But, I'm pretty sure that that could have been an easy blocker save, and that roll and kick save was just a little showmanship on Lehtonen's part.
