Van Reimsdyk Traded, On Wrong Side Of Ironic Fate

It was the talk of the town yesterday, two of the Stall brothers, Jordan and Eric, coming together and playing together for the Carolina Hurricanes. Jordan, formerly a Pittsburgh Penguin, was involved in a pre-Draft trade that will unite him and his brother next season.

James van Reimsdyk, then a Philadelphia Flyer, tweeted this.

Then just under an hour ago an ironic series of events occurred, van Reimsdyk was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs which will result in the Schenn Brothers, Luke and Brayden, coming together. Brayden Schenn tweeted this after the trade.

Van Reimsdyk really envied seeing that scenario play out between the Staals and he must have called the Flyers' front office and said, "You know what, that's cool, what Jordan and Eric have. Is there any way we can get that here in Philly?"

That's how it had to go down, right? I mean van Reimsdyk had six more years left on his contract. The only other possible scenario would have to be Paul Holmgren, the Flyers General Manager, just really likes signing long contract and then getting rid of them.

Just ask Mike Richards and Jeff Carter about that one.
