Coming into the 2010-2011 season, the Chicago Blackhawks were going to need a major effort from those players that returned from their Stanley Cup championship team the season before. The team had a major make over between the two seasons, losing some key pieces to the success they had when they found themselves hoisting the cup.
The Blackhawks received just the effort needed by 5 year veteran Dave Bolland against the Nashville Predators in the video below. It was one of Bolland's 15 goals on the season, where he added 22 assists equaling 37 points in just 61 games played.
This highlight reel goal all started when long time Predator, David Legwand, turned the puck over to Tomas Kopecky at the Blackhawks blueline, Kopecky then fed the puck to Bolland, who was streaking into the Predators zone. Bolland found himself in a one-on-one against Ryan Suter, Bolland took Sutter to the outside and then cut to the middle crossing over Sutter, once around Sutter, Bolland cut across Anders Lindback's crease tucking the puck into the net, tweeners.
The Predators involved in the play never had a chance. Once Sutter committed to coming across at Bolland, Bolland made easy work of dragging the puck past the d-man. Lindback buried himself, backing into his net and finding himself practically on the goal line when it cam time for Bolland to shoot the puck. Needless to say, Bolland capitalized on the opportunity and turned out one of the best goals of the season.
