July-lights: July 19th, Tootoo Steam Rolls Frolik

Any long time NHL fan is sure to have heard the phrase, "All aboard the Tootoo train" echoed in highlight reels and on fan sites across the wide world of hockey when ever Jordin Tootoo, of the Nashville Predators lays out an opponent. That happens very frequently.

Over the course of Tootoo's seven year career he has only found the back of the net 40 times, and assisted on 55 goals, to acquire 95 points. Last season he matched his career high in points, which is 18, with 8 goals and 10 assists.

On the other hand Tootoo has spent 633 minutes in the box, most likely resulting from his physical play. Last season he grabbed 61 PIMs, which is low compared to some of his past numbers. His career high being 124, which he had during the '08-'09 season. With penalty minutes like those it is safe to say many players have felt Tootoo's physical presence.

Bobby Frolik sure has.

After he received a suicide pass from a Panthers defender, Frolik turned towards the blue line to tried and leave the zone. Little did he know Jordin Tootoo was on the other side of that same blue line and about to introduce him to the Reebok logo on the boards.

Tootoo's shoulder connected with Frolik's jaw, flipping frolik into the boards, causing the Panthers' players to chase down Tootoo in defense of their now flattened teammate. Out of all of the ruckus, Tootoo was not assessed a penalty, but gave the NHL one of the best hits of the '10-'11 season.

I wonder if Frolik enjoyed his ride on the "Tootoo train", sorry I had to say it.
