July-lights: July 16th, Omark Fakes Out Ellis

There was a lot of hype surrounding Linus Omark when he came into the league last season with the Edmonton Oilers. Maybe it was because he had goals like the one below, where he dangled a goalie into the corner and then ever so gently went bar down during an international game with Sweden, flowing throw YouTube.

What would you expect with dangles like that? Needless too say Omark played in 51 games grabbing 27 points with 5 goals and 22 assists during his rookie campaign. He did not fail to amaze either on his first shootout oppurtunity. He did receive some criticism for being to "showy", you be the judge.

Sure the spin was probably unnecessary  and that big of a fake slapper was a little over the top. But still what a goal. I think we should stop focusing on the show boat aspect of the goal and look at how then, Tampa Bay Lightning goalie, Dan Ellis, got faked out on a slap shot from the hash marks.

Close up those legs Ellis, that's how u get infected.
